This lamp is made from a piece of yew. A wide ranging tree with beautiful colouring of orange-brown to purplish-brown, and an irregular growth pattern, which  creates a highly figured appearance. Probably one of the most popular general purpose timbers with its pale cream to pinkish brown colouring and fine even texture.
